My name is Lil Gehner and I am a second-year student at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia. I am currently majoring in neuroscience and minoring in the French language. I have always had a knack for learning languages and I believe that being multilingual has an infinite amount of benefits. I am a team player and a quick learner. I am introverted, but always willing to make an effort to make my voice heard when I feel it is important. For the past two years, I’ve been working as a barista in a coffee and chocolate shop. I thoroughly enjoy trying different occupations because it allows me to interact with my community and obtain professional experience along the way. I am passionate about encouraging others to make a difference within their communities and I believe that a little hope can go a long way.

I am a world traveler and nothing gives me greater joy than immersing myself in new cultures. This past summer I had the opportunity to travel to Switzerland and southern Italy. I believe that my ability to adapt to new environments and find similarities between myself and others creates a strong leadership role in my personal and professional life. In the spring of 2023 I traveled to Cuba for a week-long trip where I studied how race, nature, and medicine intersect. After traveling outside of the United States for the first time, I began focusing on big-picture issues, such as the United States’s lack of accessible and affordable healthcare. I am a hard-working, passionate, and thrill-seeking individual.
